What is Thai acupressure?
Thai acupressure is an important part of the traditional Thai physiotherapy. It’s the Thai medical massage. It holds the knowledge of how to use accurate manipulation of the therapy lines and points to treat common orthopedic pains such as neck, shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, back, hip, leg, knee and ankle.
A Thai acupressure therapist uses his hands, elbow, knee, foot or different tools (as in Tok Sen) to work different combinations of lines to treat different pains. Many specific lines combinations are known in Thai medicine. For instance, there are different conditions of lower back pain. Each condition needs to be treated with a different lines combination. A simple diagnosis helps the therapist choose the right lines combination for the specific condition that is presented.
